Our May 16th dance successfully fundraised $1326 for our ASF Summer Fiddle Camp and $910 for the Canadian Grand Masters to be held in High River, August 27-29, 2026. Profits from our June dance will also be used in support of our ASF Summer Fiddle Camp. 

ALBERTA FIDDLE CONTESTS AND FESTIVALS COMING SUMMER 2026!

The Wildrose Fiddlers Old Time Fiddle Festival and Grand North American Fiddle Championship is coming to Fort Saskatchewan, July 16-19, 2026. “There’s something for everyone” that weekend, including jams, a country barn dance Friday, fiddle contests for all ages and levels of playing, a banquet and old time dance, the judges’ showcase, a step dance workshop, and guest entertainers, the Cheremosh Dance Company. Thank you to the Wild Rose Fiddlers Association for hosting this amazing annual event. The ASF is proud to be the sponsor of the Saturday Youth Workshop at the festival for the fourth year in a row. 

The Alberta Society of Fiddlers is proud to be a Diamond Level Sponsor of the Canadian Grand Masters Fiddle Competition (CGMFC) this year. The CGMFC lands in High River, AB, August 27-29, 2026. This will be a top-notch gathering of the best and keenest fiddlers in the country. New to the CGMFC this year are a Juniors and a Seniors category; a chance to enjoy seeing familiar faces on stage! Having the national contest in Alberta is a rare opportunity that comes only once a decade, so take advantage of the chance to hear the best of the best in Canadian old time fiddling in your own backyard. Along with the contests, you’re sure to enjoy the barn dance, jams and camaraderie with lots of fiddle friends as well. Make sure to get your tickets quickly as well as plan your accommodation, as space is limited.
